a fair and a funeral

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

Yesterday, I went to a funeral. Ryan was three weeks old yesterday too. It was hard to leave him and Haylee at home with Phil. I knew they’d all be just fine, and they were. However, funerals are not something anyone likes to attend alone. Which is why I knew I needed to go. My Gramma had lost one of her sisters and I can’t imagine how hard that would be.

I have sister and a brother who are both older. Even though the years have made us drift apart a little, they are still both very close to my heart. That’s the thing about siblings. Growing up they drive you crazy, but when up you’re suddenly a grown up you realize they are very much a part of who you are.

When I came home, we all went to the state fair. Me, Phil, Haylee and Ryan. It was definitely fun. Good food, that’s very bad for you. Rides that give you a thrill. (or mostly Haylee:) And being with the people you love most in the world.

As mixed up as it may sound, the whole day helped me appreciate life a little more.
